Reducing the risk of heart attack and stroke during COVID-19 - Click here
Why focus on Prevention of Cardiovascular Disease?
Poor cardiovascular health can cause heart attacks, strokes, heart failure, chronic kidney disease, peripheral arterial disease and the onset of vascular dementia. It disproportionately affects people from the poorest communities.
CVD is the leading cause of death worldwide, accounting 31% of all global deaths.
CVD mortality rates have almost halved nationally over recent decades, but there is no room for complacency.
Considerable coordinated efforts are required to address the major challenges that CVD continues to play in individual lives and communities across Cheshire and Merseyside.
The resources below have been collated to support partners across Cheshire and Merseyside to promote overall health and wellbeing and to prevent CVD.
